With very dry conditions, temperatures above 90° for two days in a row, and the humidity below 20%, area fire departments were busy on Friday afternoon dealing with multiple wildfires.
1:45pm - The Buna, Kirbyville, Trout Creek, and Evadale Fire Departments dealt with a wildfire in the area of Farm to Market Road 1004 and County Road 633, west of Buna.
1:50pm - The Lake Rayburn Fire Department responded to a wildfire at 1098 Church Street in Brookeland. It was the second time in two days that the department responded a wildfire at the same address.
2:10pm - The Lake Rayburn Fire Department dealt with a wildfire at 117 County Road 200 in Brookeland.
2:22pm - The Roganville, Tri-Community, and East End Fire Departments along with the Texas A&M Forest Service responded to a wildfire at 632 County Road 470.
4:35pm - The Jasper Fire Department dealt with a grass fire at the corner of N Austin at E Florine.
6:32pm - The Kirbyville Fire Department responded to a wildfire in the area of Highway 96 at County Road 498.
There were no injuries or structures damaged in any of the wildfires on Friday afternoon.
