Angelina County Sheriff Tom Selman says a convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning, and the suspect was captured a short time later. The crime occurred shortly after 9:00 at the 69 Country Store located on U.S. Highway 69 in Pollok, which is northwest of Lufkin. Sheriff Selman said the clerk was not injured, and she used her cell phone to snap a photo which captured part of the license plate on the suspect’s vehicle as he was leaving. Selman said Lufkin Police assisted with identifying the suspect’s vehicle and address, and deputies went to that address on Quarles Road, just west of Huntington, and found the man sitting in the vehicle and promptly took him into custody. Selman said they also recovered his gun and the money taken in the robbery. The sheriff identified him as 21-year-old Jeffery Dale Yarbrough, and he was charged with Aggravated Robbery.
