The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to Parnell Elementary School on Park Street shortly before noon on Sunday when an alarm sounded indicating that fire or smoke had been detected in the building.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and discovered that an electrical breaker had tripped in the kitchen, but no actual fire or smoke could be detected.
Firemen called the school's maintenance department and at last word they were working to correct the problem.
