A prison guard at the Gist State Jail in Jefferson County has been arrested after she was caught smuggling in drugs for a prisoner.
Asya Thomas, 20, has been charged with Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility and Bribery, Her bond has been set at $30,000.00.
If convicted, Thomas faces up to 20 years in prison.
According to the arrest affidavit, Thomas brought in paper that was laced with PCP. Under questioning, Thomas said that she had been promised $1,250.00 for delivering the drugs.
