5 injured in two vehicle auto accident west of Jasper

Five people are undergoing treatment following a two vehicle auto accident that occurred on Thursday evening about 5 miles west of Jasper. The volunteers of the Beech Grove Department were dispatched to the scene of the crash on Highway 190 just east of the intersection of Farm to Market Road 777, near Beech Grove, shortly before before 6:00, when it was reported that the crash involving a 2000 Chevrolet pick up truck and a 2011 GMC Sport Utility Vehicle had occurred. Firemen were able to get all of the occupants of the vehicles out and they were treated at the scene before being transported by Allegiance EMS to Christus Jasper Memorial, where they were at last word still undergoing treatment. What happened is not clear, but a fireman at the scene said it appeared that the vehicles might have hit head on. No names or other information has been released pending completion of the investigation by State Troopers.
