2 juveniles in custody after woman struck by bullet at Lufkin apartment complex

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The Lufkin Police Department is investigating an ongoing dispute that led to a shooting on Thursday afternoon. According to Lufkin PIO Jessica Pebsworth, the shooting happened at Green Meadows Apartments. A woman reported being struck in the leg by a bullet. At about 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the complex on Lotus Lane to check on the woman and investigate. EMS came and treated her, but she refused to be taken to the hospital. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing four juveniles fleeing from the scene on foot before the officers arrived. Detectives and patrol officers searched the area for suspects, and as of 5 p.m., they had detained two juveniles. The witnesses also said that there had been an ongoing dispute between the involved people. Pebsworth said the investigation is ongoing.
