SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KTRE) - Police arrested two people following a Shelby County vehicle pursuit that ended in San Augustine.
The Center Police Department notified the San Augustine Police Department a pursuit was heading into city limits.
The intersection of US Highway 96 and State Highway 21 were secured, and officers joined the pursuit at the northern city limits.
A tactical vehicle intervention was attempted and while the driver kept going, the passenger left the vehicle and surrendered.
The driver then drove north on US Highway 96 and east on Martin Luther King Drive. They then continued south on Martin Luther King Drive before turning west on Barrett Street.
At the intersection of Barrett and US Highway 96, a second tactical vehicle intervention succeeded.
The driver then ran east on Barrett Street before officers apprehended them
No injuries were reported. The suspects and their charges have not yet been released.
