Many 45 South Plaquemines 0, Tigers advanced to quarterfinals at St. James

Qb Hayden Evans and running back Jeremiah James combined for 3 touchdowns James a rushing touchdown, Tylen Singleton 1 rushing touchdown Ked Gosey had a pick 6 touchdown and the Mighty Many high defense pitched their 2nd straight shutout to defeat the South Plaquemines Hurricanes 45-0, last Friday night to advance to a quarter final game at the Shark of St. James.

The Tigers defense made a statement early as they would force a punt on the Hurricanes 1st possession of the contest. The rush by the Tigers defense blocked the punt and the results were a 1st and goal at the hurricanes 6. It only took the Tigers 1 play to score as Evans flipped a 6 yard touchdown pass to James for a early 6-0 lead as Deacon LaFollette pat was good, 7-0, 9:19 mark. Eight of 10 games this season, the Tigers have scored on their 1st possession of the game.

The defense forced another hurricane punt and the Tigers in good field position at the 41. Tylen Singleton, from the Wildcat formation carried the ball down the far sideline for a 41 yard touchdown run to increase the Tigers lead to 14-0 on LaFollette pat, 4:36 left in the 1st quarter.

The hurricanes 3rd punt of the night resulted only 12 yards, as the Tigers took over at the 49.

From the 49, the Tigers scored their 3rd touchdown of the game as Evans completed a 22 yard touchdown pass to James with 11:35 left in the half. LaFollette pat boosted the Tigers lead at 21-0. It took the Tigers offense 2:15 for the 49 yard drive, now 21-0 for the Tigers.

On the hurricanes next drive, they would pick up 3 first downs, down to the Tigers 37 yard line. Later, the hurricanes were faced with a 4th 6 at the 33, decided to go deep on a pass, but the Tigers defense once again made a big play as a defender tipped the ball away and the ball wound up in the hands of Ked Gosey as he returned the ball 56, down to the Hurricanes 39.

The Hurricanes defense stiffed and forced a 29 yard field goal for a 24-0 lead at the half.

The 2nd half, the Tigers received the kickoff and took over at the 42.

On a 3rd and 7, Evans once again hooked up with James, this time for a 59 yard touchdown pass with 10:35 left in the third quarter. LaFollette kick is good as the Tigers lead now 31-0.

The drive took 3 plays and 1:25.

With 9:19 remaining in the game, James collected his 4th touchdown of the night on a 2 yard run. LaFollette pat is good, 38-0 Tiger lead.

The Tigers defense, made a strong statement to close out the scoring for the night as Gosey collected his 2nd interception of the night, this one, a 25 yard pick 6, with 6:45 left in the game. LaFollette kick once again is good 45-0 Tigers.

From this time and for the rest of the game, it would be a running clock, 4th straight game the Tigers defense has created to end the game. Final score, Many 45 South Plaquemines 0.
