- Monroe Patrick Causey better known as Pat. Pat passed away peacefully at his home on September 19th, 2025. Visitation will be today from 5:00 PM -9:00 PM CT at the Smyrna Baptist in DeRidder. Funeral service Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CT also Smyrna Baptist. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery following the service.
- Retired DeRidder Fire Chief, Marvin A. Whiddon, Sr, passed away September 21, 2025. His funeral will be Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church DeRidder. Brother Jason Fuller will officiate the service

- Linda Sue Spiridon, 76, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Labby Memorial Chapel.
- Penny Ann McVey, born on August 13, 1964, in Richwood, VA, passed away on September 23, 2025. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Penny's life at a funeral service scheduled for Monday, September 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. A public viewing will take place from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, leading up to the service. Following the service, Penny will be cremated
- Wilfredo "Freddy" Cruz-Rios passed away September 20, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 70. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Central Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Leesville.
