Funeral services for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
- Edna Lucille Oakerson DeWitt, a woman of profound faith, gentle grace, and unwavering devotion to her family and church, stepped into the arms of her Savior on February 19, 2026, at the age of 98. A true Southern lady whose life was a testament to the "richest fellowship" of a life lived for Christ, Lucille leaves behind a legacy of love that spans generations. Services will be held on February 23, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Many, LA, under the direction of Warren Meadows. Visitation will begin at 12 noon until time for the service at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Jerusalem Cemetery.
- Shirley Boswell Straight walked peacefully into the presence of her Savior on Friday, February 20, 2026. Services will be held at Simpson Church of God in Simpson, La on Monday February 23, 2026. Viewing from 9-11. Service 11-12. Graveside immediately following at Welcome Cemetery.
- Frank Reginald Martin, 67, of DeRidder, LA, went to be with our Lord on February 16, 2026. Visitation will be held February 23, 2026, at Simmons Mills Church from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and again on February 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until 2:00 PM with Rev. Dalton Isbell, Rev. Ricky Wead, Jr., and Rev. Jeff Phillips officiating. A burial service will follow at Buck Martin Cemetery.
- Betty Carolyn Gaskin Taylor, 77, of Anacoco, Louisiana, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Leesville, Louisiana. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM on March 7, 2026, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco, Louisiana.
