A worker has died in an industrial accident at Golden Pass LNG, according to Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Captain Crystal Holmes.
Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. reportedly declared the worker dead at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sunday following an accident there.
Collins declined to released the name of the deceased, but said the man was not from the local area. Collins said he has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the accident, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will also be involved in the inquiry.
The plant is located south of Port Arthur, near Sabine Pass.
