FRANKLIN COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The Perryville Volunteer Fire chief has been arrested after a client said he did not deliver on a contract building job.

Daniel Charles Alexander, 40, of Winnsboro, is charged with theft of service. He was booked into the Wood County Jail on Thursday on a Franklin County charge.

According to a report filed with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Alexander is a contractor who was paid $49,000 upfront to build a metal building. But Alexander never did any of the work and dodged calls from the client. The client contacted the sheriff’s office on July 3 to file a report.

Bond for Alexander has not yet been set, according to jail records.
