A woman was very critically injured in a Wednesday morning crash in northeast Sabine County. It happened shortly after 8:00 on Highway 21 in the Pendleton Harbor Community. Due to the severity of the accident, the Pendleton Harbor, Hemphill, and Pineland Fire Departments were all at the scene and firefighters worked for over an hour with the Jaws-of-Life to rescue the woman out of her car. A medical helicopter was requested, but they couldn’t respond due to mist and fog, so the woman was rushed by ambulance to a Lufkin hospital. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, 40-year-old Krissi Clark, of Bronson, was driving a 2014 Hyundai car westbound when she, for an unknown reason, crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the trailer of a log truck. Sergeant Clark said the driver of the log truck, 50-year-old Samuel Overdevest, of Zwolle, Louisiana, was not injured.
