A woman managed to avoid having to go to the hospital, but she didn’t manage to avoid having to go to jail following a one-vehicle crash in Sabine County late Wednesday afternoon. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said emergency crews responded shortly after 4:00 to Farm to Market Road 83, known locally as Old Sabinetown Road, just east of the city limits of Hemphill. Sergeant Clark said 62-year-old Angela Grider, of Hemphill, was driving a 2022 Toyota pickup truck eastbound when she went off the highway and struck an embankment. According to Clark, the woman wasn’t injured, but she was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.
