The driver of a late sport utility vehicle is undergoing treatment for the injures she received, when the vehicle she was driving collided with an eighteen wheeled oil field service truck on Monday morning, between Jasper and Kirbyville.
The accident occurred shortly before 9:00 on Highway 96, just north of Farm to Market Road 2245, commonly known as "Roganville Road".
Sgt. Stephanie Davis of the Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred, when a 2014 Chevrolet SUV, which was northbound on Highway 96, for some unknown reason, rear ended the 2012 Mack tractor trailer truck, which was also northbound at the time.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 26 year old Abigail Klemcke of Jasper was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for what was said to be minor injuries. The driver of the eighteen wheeler was not injured.
The volunteers of the Roganville Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to assist with rescuing the driver from the Chevrolet, stand by in case of fire and also assist with traffic control. The northbound lane of Highway 96 was blocked until almost 10:00, until workers could clear the wreckage from the roadway.
