Woman from Pineland severely injured in wreck near Call

A resident of Pineland received what was reported to be severe injuries on Thursday morning in an auto accident that occurred near Call Junction south of Kirbyville. The accident occurred shortly before 8:00 on Highway 96 at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1004. According to preliminary reports, a 2015 Chrysler 200 was northbound on Highway 96, while a 2019 Dodge Ram truck was southbound, and a 2020 Subaru SUV was at the stop sign on FM 1004. According to first responders, the driver of the Subaru pulled out into the path of the Dodge truck. The driver of the truck attempted to avoid the collision, resulting in the truck crossing into the oncoming traffic lane and colliding head on with the Chrysler. The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 25-year-old Tatyana Lacey, of Pineland, sustained severe injuries and was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The driver of the Dodge truck, 57-year-old Alisa Langley, of Buna, and one adult passenger sustained minor injuries and both were taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital. The driver of the Subaru, 90-year-old Clara Perino, of Kirbyville, was not injured.
