A Jasper woman narrowly escaped serious injury, when the 2010 Hyundai Van she was driving left the road, flipped over and came to rest against a tree near Lake Sam Rayburn on Monday afternoon.
Firemen and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the location on Recreational Road 255, at the entrance to Twin Dikes Park, shortly after 2:00 pm, when it was reported that the crash had occurred and arrived to find the driver of the vehicle had already left the scene. However, within a short time, a State Trooper had located the driver, 46 year old Shiloh Pippenger and brought her back to the scene of the crash.
A report filed by the investigating trooper, said Pippenger, who appeared to be intoxicated was traveling east when she failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road
Word is that Pippenger, who was not injured in the crash, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
