Police in Beaumont are investigating an accident that left woman dead early Sunday morning on Interstate 10 near North and Calder Streets.
Officers were reportedly dispatched to the location shortly before 5:00, when it was reported that someone was in the roadway. However, just minutes later they received another call stating that the woman had been hit by a vehicle.
Police there are now taking statements and trying to learn more about the woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending formal identification and notification of next of kin.
