SHREVEPORT, La. - A woman is under arrest and charged with illegal use of a weapon after an incident Sunday morning in the 8600 block of Dowdell Street in Shreveport.
Police say Crystal Brown, 37, kicked in the door of her boyfriend's home and shot at him. He managed to get away.
Brown then ran into a nearby field where she hid until police arrived.
As they attempted to engage her, police say Brown repeatedly made movements as if reaching for a weapon under her shirt and reportedly told officers, "You're going to have to kill me today."
One officer discharged a single shot, which did not strike the suspect. Officers then deployed a taser, successfully subduing Brown, who was taken into custody without further incident.
Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
