Both the Jasper and East End Fire Departments were busy dealing with a wildfire on Thursday afternoon just east of Jasper. The blaze broke out under power lines in the area of County Roads 263 and 269. The Texas A&M Forest Service also assisted, and the fire was brought under control about 90 minutes later. It’s unknown how the fire started.
