Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff's Department say what started out as a routine traffic stop resulted in some suprises and an arrest on Monday.
Officers say it all began shortly before 5:00 when Deputy Brian Gray attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 96 near County Road 302 and Bradshaw Hill.
Gray reported that instead of stopping, the vehicle kept rolling at a slow speed until it finally stopped in a driveway.
Gray said that after the driver Johnathan Breece Dalton, 34, of Jasper was taken into custody, he and other officers who soon arrived found numerous items of drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.
Dalton was taken to the Jasper County Jail and officers said they would be asking a judge asking that he be charged with Fleeing or Eluding, Driving While License Invalid With Previous Convictions Suspension Without Financial Responsibility and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
