PITKIN, La. (KPLC) - A Pitkin woman is jailed on several serious charges, including attempted rape and battery of a police officer.
On Feb. 26, the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jenea Powell, 24, on the following counts:
- Attempted second-degree rape
- Sexual battery
- Domestic abuse battery
- Resisting a police officer
- Resisting a police officer with force or violence - simple assault
- Battery of a police officer
- Battery of a correctional facility employee
According to Detective Rhonda Jordan of VPSO, deputies responded to a disturbance at a home, and once there, allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct against Powell were made.
Powell continued to resist arrest but was ultimately booked into the Vernon Parish jail, Jordan said.
