East Texas (KLTV) - Two school districts have announced some late-week closures.
The closures come in the wake of San Augustine basketball and Palestine Westwood basketball both winning their state semi-finals games, meaning they’ll be heading to state finals in San Antonio.
San Augustine has announced all schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday so families and friends who would like to head to the Alamodome to support the team can do so. The Wolves will play on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Westwood ISD has announced the closure of their schools on Friday only. The Westwood Panthers defeated Aransas Pass Tuesday night in the 3A Division II State Semifinal, so now they’ll head to the Alamodome in San Antonio where they’ll play at 1 pm. on Friday, March 13.
