Wernig resigned from Orangefield ISD School Board after arrest

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Marcus Daniel Wernig has resigned from his position as a board member on the Orangefield ISD School Board. His current term would have continued until November of 2026.

This comes after Wernig, who is 35, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated early on the morning of Friday, February 14th after he crashed his vehicle on Interstate 10 in Orange County.

Wernig was arrested again a few days later because his alleged DWI was a violation of bond conditions stemming from a 2023 arrest for DWI and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
