MINDEN, La. -- A Webster Parish man died Wednesday as the result of an apparent accidental gunshot wound at his Dorcheat Road home near the Evergreen community.
Sheriff Jason Parker identified the victim as Dalton Taylor, 23.
Taylor taken to Minden Medical Center, where he died from his injury.
Parker said deputies were dispatched around 5 p.m. to MMC after receiving reports of a victim with a gunshot wound.
“We began investigative measures and after interviewing witnesses it was determined the death was accidental, not the result of foul play,” Parker said. “Apparently his handgun accidentally discharged, striking him in the lower abdomen.”
Parker said Taylor's body has been sent to Little Rock, Ark. for an autopsy.
