Sour Lake Police say a Polk County man, who is named in numerous felony warrants, fled from officers in a vehicle and then on foot late Tuesday morning. Police Chief Aaron Burleson said officers tried to stop 23-year-old Zachary Alexander Taylor on Highway 105 and he fled from them at speeds reaching over 100 miles-per-hour and at one point he collided with a police car. Hardin County deputies deployed spike strips on Farm to Market Road 770, but Taylor maneuvered around them. The vehicle chase finally ended when Taylor stopped because his engine was damaged and smoking. He then fled on foot into a wooded area. As of late Tuesday afternoon he remained at-large. Police said among the numerous warrants for his arrest was one for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
