HORNBECK, La. (KPLC) - A double homicide investigation is underway in the Hornbeck area, according to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office (VPSO). Just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office and an officer from the Anacoco Police Department received a call requesting a welfare check at a home in the Hornbeck area, VPSO said. When investigators arrived at the home, no one would answer the door, according to VPSO. Investigators entered and found two dead women. The victims’ identification is pending next of kin notification. At this time, authorities do not believe there is any danger to the public, VPSO spokeswoman Rhonda Jordan said. Detectives are currently processing the scene for evidence. No further information will be released at this time, Jordan said.
