Victims of the storms call for help and the aviators in DeRidder answer

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

The people of the Pelican State are used to storms and have themselves suffered through recovery following the natural disasters; most recently Hurricane Laura. The recent storms in Florida and the surrounding states have left many in need and a group of aviators in West Louisiana heard the call and responded. Organizing the effort was Wilson Brown and his company known as Propel Aviation which offers flight instruction and other aviation services at the Beauregard Parish Airport in DeRidder. Brown and his crew went to work calling on other pilots and collecting supplies and while others were talking, the aviators from Deridder and the surrounding area were in route to Burnsville, North Carolina loaded with everything from water to toilet paper. The group, loaded with supplies, landed in Burnsville, which has become a hub for supply donations and not only unloaded supplies but traveled all over the area helping to deliver them to where they were needed. Propell Air provided pictures from what has been coined as Operation Airdrop. Propell and it's staff along with the volunteers said they could not have done it without the help and support of the community and thank everyone for helping out.
