The National Weather Service in Lake Charles says it’s possible that we could experience very cold temperatures next week. Meteorologists issued a statement on Tuesday which said, “At this time, there is an increasing in confidence that a cold front with some Arctic type air mass will enter the region on Monday.” The statement went on to say “…there is a potential for some very cold days and hard freeze conditions early to mid-next week, with the best chance on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 16th and 17th.” Meteorologists say computer models show a low temperature on Tuesday morning around 17° and could possibly be as low as 10° in the most extreme case. KFDM Chief Meteorologist Greg Bostwick says there is a slight risk of some sleet or freezing rain Monday before the precipitation ends.
