VERNON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - A body has been recovered after a possible drowning call to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s department was notified around 9:30 this morning of a possible drowning near Anacoco at Vernon Lake. Deputies along with agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries responded to the location. This afternoon, VPSO announced the the missing boater’s body had been recovered. The name of the victim has not been released.
