Orange County Sheriff Bobby Smith says people stopped a man and woman from throwing a 16-month-old baby from a bridge and into a creek during the noon hour on Friday.
It happened on the Farm to Market Road 1131 bridge over Ten Mile Creek north of Vidor.
Witnesses said the man and woman were arguing when they intervened.
The names of the man and woman have not been released.
