Beaumont Police are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident which left a woman dead. Meanwhile, police say the driver who hit the woman didn’t stop or report that it had occurred. According to police, the woman’s body was found shortly after 7:00 Friday morning in a grassy area next to Highway 347 (Twin City Highway) just off of Highway 69 (Cardinal Drive). The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin. Meanwhile, Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr. has ordered an autopsy.
