If you’re planning to travel to Houston, you need to avoid the Beaumont route and instead head to Livingston and then Highway 59 to Houston. The reason is because Beaumont Police say a large crack has developed on the Interstate 10 westbound lanes on the Washington Boulevard overpass. Police say vehicles are being routed off of the interstate and onto the service road which is causing major traffic backups. There’s no word on when repairs will be completed to the damaged road surface.
