UPDATE: The Grant Parish Sheriff's Office says that Britt Barnes, who was wanted for the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, has been taken into custody. Barnes is currently being held in the Grant Parish jail on a $500,000 bond.
His charges include:
* 8 counts aggravated assault with a motor vehicle upon a peace officer.
* 4 counts attempted first degree murder
* 1 count aggravated flight from an officer
* 4 counts resisting an officer-aggravated assault

The Grant Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for Britt Barnes, who is wanted for the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
The incident started in Montgomery when a police officer stopped Barnes, who was wanted by probation and parole out of Lake Charles. Barnes then fled the scene.
Deputies then tried to stop him in the Hargis community. During the stop, Barnes attempted to run over a deputy several times. The deputy then shot at Barnes' vehicle, where the suspect later fled the scene.
