TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler police say a man is in jail following an altercation at Taco Bell Monday night. Steven Murray Williams, 64, of Tyler, was arrested after reports of shots fired came from Taco Bell on 5th Street around 8:15 p.m. Monday. According to Tyler Police Department PIO Andy Erbaugh, Williams shot at a woman during an altercation in the drive-thru, but the woman was not hit. Erbaugh said Williams did not know the intended victim. Williams was stopped by police in his vehicle on 5th St., Erbaugh said, and was detained without incident. According to Erbaugh, Williams was taken to a Tyler hospital for an unrelated medical issue from the scene and has yet to be officially placed under arrest for the alleged crime. He will be booked into the Smith County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon upon his release.
