A Jasper woman is undergoing hospital treatment for the injuries she received in a two-vehicle auto accident that occurred just before noon on Saturday north of Jasper. Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred on Highway 96, just south of Recreational Road 255, in front of Solly's Liquor Store, when 2013 Toyota Camry pulled out onto the roadway in front of a northbound 2003 Toyota 4Runner sport utility vehicle. The driver of the Camry, Jayshu Carter, 26, of Jasper, was transported by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with what was reported to be serious injuries. However, the driver of the 4Runner and his passenger were treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians from Allegiance EMS and later reported to be ok. The volunteers of the Lake Rayburn Fire Department responded to the scene and assisted with the incident and also handled traffic control until the wreckage could be cleared from the highway.
