The U.S. Coast Guard was able to rescue crewmembers trapped in a sinking tugboat early Friday morning at Sabine Pass. A mayday call went out at 5:38, and the Coast Guard immediately launched a boat crew from their nearby Sabine Pass Station. Reports from the scene said that the tugboat was submerged on the port side, and two of the four crewmen were trapped in the vessel's galley. Meanwhile, the other two crewmen had used a torch to cut their way out of the boat. All four were assessed by paramedics and then taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
