A two-vehicle auto accident on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Hwy 96 and Main Street in Kirbyville, injuring one person and knocked out electrical power. A 2001 Chevy truck, driven by Molly Morgan, was headed north on Hwy 96 when she failed to stop at a red light, according to Kirbyville Police Officer Ashley Arce. Morgan's vehicle entered the intersection and collided with an oncoming 2019 Chevy Silverado traveling west on Main Street. The impact caused both vehicles to spin, with Morgan's truck jumping the curb on the southbound side of Hwy 96 and crashing into a light pole. Family members at the scene indicated that Morgan had been experiencing medical issues and was unaware of the red light. She was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle. Jamie Odem from Kirbyville Light and Power and others immediately went to work and soon had the power restored.
