Two Sabine County residents were seriously injured in a head-on crash that killed a Louisiana woman. Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop G say it occurred shortly after 2:00 Wednesday afternoon in DeSoto Parish. According to the report, 70-year-old Priscilla Powell, of Hemphill, was driving a 2015 Honda Crosstour with a juvenile passenger, while 84-year-old Oristene Jackson, of Mansfield, Louisiana, was driving the opposite direction in a 2012 Chevrolet pickup truck. Troopers say Jackson, for an unknown reason, crossed the center line of the highway and her truck collided head-on with the car. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, while Powell and the juvenile passenger were both transported to a local hospital and, at last word, were continuing to undergo treatment.
