Two people injured in single vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon

Two people were injured in a one vehicle auto accident that occurred shortly after 1:00 on Tuesday afternoon, not far from the Jasper County Airport. Officers investigating the incident said the driver told them that a dog ran out in the road, causing him to take evasive action, which resulted in the 1999 Jeep Liberty, which was headed south on Farm to Market Road 777, leaving the road and turning over on it's side. Both the Jasper and Beech Grove Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival firemen found a female that was in the vehicle had already made her way out, but an elderly man was trapped. Firemen immediately went to work using hydraulic devices and other tools to soon free the man. The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Billy Tolle, 77, and his unidentified wife, of Jasper, were both treated at the scene. Billy Tolle was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital by ambulance. The wife, who did not appear to have serious injuries was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle and at last word, both were still undergoing treatment.  The section of FM-777 between Highways 190 and 63, was blocked for a short time until the rescue could occur and the wreckage and emergency vehicles could be removed from the highway.
