TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Two people have died in a wreck involving an 18-wheeler on the west loop in Tyler. According to Tyler police, all northbound traffic from Front to Erwin Street in Tyler is being diverted after an 18-wheeler struck another vehicle, pushing it into three other cars, killing two people. According to Tyler PD spokesman Andrew Erbaugh, a GMC SUV was traveling northbound on West Elm Street, crossing the loop when it turned into oncoming traffic and the path of an 18-wheeler. They were William Connerly, 82, and Shirley Connerly, 79, both of Kerens. The driver of the 18-wheeler and the driver of one of the vehicles hit were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As of 5:50 p.m., the loop was re-opened.
