LEESVILLE, La. (KPLC) - A shooting suspect has been arrested after an hours-long manhunt in Vernon Parish. Kalen Hamm, 26, of Leesville, is suspected in a shooting this morning in a trailer on Wilson Loop, northwest of Elmwood. The victim showed up at a Leesville hospital with five or six gunshot wounds and is expected to survive, Sheriff Sam Craft said. Deputies recovered a .22 handgun that is believed to have been used in the shooting. Hamm ran from deputies, who then searched the area for at least eight hours with the help of a bloodhound and a drone, Craft said. They believed Hamm was hiding in the thick brush.
