The Lufkin Police Department says two people were killed in a crash involving three vehicles late Sunday morning. It happened shortly after 11:00 in the 3100 block of South First Street. Police say the driver of a Honda sedan was southbound on the outside lane and attempted to make a left turn and turned into the path of an 18-wheeler which was also southbound and on the inside lane. The 18-wheeler then hit a Toyota 4-Runner which was also southbound. Police say one man in the Honda car was pronounced dead at the scene and a second man in the car died a short time later at a hospital emergency room. The names of those involved had not been released as of late Monday morning.
