Beaumont Police said Wednesday that they have now arrested two suspects in connection with the Tuesday evening murder of a man in the South Park area of the city's southeast side.
Police said Terry Lee Thompson and a friend were riding bicycles when they were approached by four males, followed by the 16-year-old pulling a gun and shooting Thompson in the chest in the 1300 block of Pipkin Street. Thompson was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he later died.
What sparked the incident is unknown, but officers say reports are that at least one of the suspects and the victim had words before the shooting occurred.
