Two drivers were injured in an accident between jasper and Kirbyville during the noon hour on Wednesday, and an unidentified man who stopped to help was struck by another vehicle. Fortunately, that man was uninjured. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, it happened during the noon hour on Highway 96 at County Road 498. Sergeant Clark said a 2022 Ford SUV, driven by Renee Dickerson, 45, of Buna, was northbound when it was hit by a 2005 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Manwel Marin, 43, of Kirbyville. Clark said Marin was merging from the center turn lane into the inside northbound lane.
