The Trout Creek and Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on Wednesday just after 2:00pm. The fire broke out at a house located at 3715 Farm to Market Road 2460 in the Bon Wier area. The house was empty at the time of the fire. The homeowner's sister, who lives a short distance from the home, saw smoke and arrived to find the house on fire. She indicated to first responders that the fire looked as if it started near a window unit and then spread throughout the house. According to firemen at the scene, the house is a total loss.
