Tuesday is the Primary Election Runoff, Polls Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tuesday is the Texas March Primary Runoff Election Day with a handful of races to be decided on both the local and state level as voters choose their party’s nominee for the November Mid-Term Election.

On the local level, one contest in Newton County and four in Tyler County will be decided as no candidate breached more than 50% of the vote in the March Primary. Those five local runoff races are on the Republican ticket, while the seven statewide runoff races are on both the Democrat and Republican tickets.

The polls will be open on Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Newton County (Republican nomination)

County Judge - Kenneth Weeks and Ronnie Cochran

Tyler County (Republican nomination)

County Judge - Melissa Riley and Milton Powers

County Treasurer - Leann Monk and Maegan Rains Odom

Precinct 2 County Commissioner - Stevan Sturrock and Doug Hughes

Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace - Jim Moore and Henry Sawyer

Texas - Statewide

There are three statewide runoff elections on the Democrat ballots and four statewide runoff elections on the Republican ballots as each party chooses their candidates for the November Mid-Term Election.

Statewide (Democrat nomination)

Lieutenant Governor - Mike Collier and Michelle Beckley

Attorney General - Rochelle Mercedes Garza and Joe Jaworski

Land Commissioner - Sandragrace Martinez and Jay Kleberg

Statewide (Republican nomination)

Attorney General - Ken Paxton and George P. Bush

Land Commissioner - Dawn Buckingham and Tim Westley

Railroad Commissioner - Wayne Christian and Sarah Stogner
