Residents living in the area of the Lynn and McQueen Streets in East Jasper were wakened on Sunday evening, when the rig of an eighteen wheeled tractor trailer truck exploded into flames. The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to the location near East Texas Forest Products and Traeger Pellet Mill shortly before 11:00 and arrived to find the truck and trailer completely engulfed in flames. The firefighters immediately went to work and soon had the fire out. Blake Paige said the rig had just returned from a job earlier in the evening and was parked on the lot, when the fire occurred. However, it is still not known what sparked the blaze. The truck and it's attached trailer were destroyed. However, no injuries resulted from the incident.
