Firemen were dispatched to the local Walmart Store on West Gibson Street, shortly after 8:00 on Thursday evening, when it was reported that a large Ford Supertruck was on fire.
Firemen arrived to find flames and smoke coming from under the hood of the vehicle, which had big tires and a lift kit. As firemen pried the hood open, and began to battle the blaze, wiring leading from the truck's battery to the engine shorted out, causing a large display of sparks above and below the truck.
As others backed up from the shooting sparks and fire, the firefighters stayed in place battling the fire until it was out.
There is no word on who owned the truck or what sparked the blaze.
No injuries resulted from the incident.
