The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office says one woman is dead after being hit by a train.
It happened just after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Camp Road and S. Pine Street in Vivian.
The sheriff's office reports that the train's engineer said he saw the woman on the outside of the tracks and tried to stop the train before ultimately hitting her.
The woman's identity has not been released.
